The Challenge:
One of the biggest challenges in this project was achieving precise alignment for glass railings mounted directly onto the steel pan treads and landings. With almost no margin for error, even slight deviations could have compromised both visual symmetry and field installation.
To solve this, we detailed slotted holes in all treads and landings—providing just 3/16″ of play. This subtle but powerful adjustment allowed the field team to fine-tune railing alignment during installation, avoiding costly rework.
Our Expertise:
We integrated these slotted holes directly into our 3D model, ensuring consistency across all components. Once the stair was installed and alignment confirmed, the slots were filled with concrete and topped with wood finish covers, achieving both durability and a clean architectural finish.
Beyond the railing fit-up, we paid close attention to welded connections, stringer alignment, and custom tread fabrication. All components were designed to meet load requirements while supporting a minimalist, open aesthetic.
The Result:
The finished product is a clear example of what expert ornamental stair detailing can achieve. The staircase is not only structurally sound and code-compliant—it also enhances the space architecturally, serving as a signature design feature.
