The Challenge:
One of the standout challenges involved two massive 10-foot-deep welded plate girders. These critical components demanded meticulous attention to detail from the start—any mistake or rework at this scale would have been both costly and time-consuming.
In addition, the project included over 5,500 bolts, each requiring manual checks. While advanced modeling tools helped us plan and visualize connections, ensuring clearance for bolting tools and avoiding field clashes still demanded human precision.
Our Expertise:
Beyond the girders, the bridge featured complex, conic-shaped bent plates, each requiring non-standard welds and precision groove layouts. We applied advanced modeling techniques to accurately represent every weld, cut, and connection.
Another challenge involved coating: each bridge component required one of four different finish paints. To manage this complexity, we used metadata tracking within the model to mark and verify correct paint specs on every part.
